Here’s your invitation to enjoy the outdoors and get more fit and healthy with friends, neighbors, and others from our community – it’s San Mateo County Take a Hike, which encourages you to discover a County Park one Saturday each month. San Mateo County Take a Hike!
It’s a great way to explore the natural beauty of San Mateo County’s parks. Enjoy the sunshine and camaraderie of family and friends while increasing your activity level. Learn about the history of our local parks as staff and volunteers guide you along picturesque trails.

The 2011 season of Take A Hike features a new schedule of parks and trails, including a special “Dog Days of Summer: Bring Your Dog” walk on August 13 at Pillar Point Bluff, and a fun Wear‐Your‐Costume walk on October 29! The first 100 to log three hikes will receive a pedometer at the September 24th hike.
Hikes begin at 9 a.m. and are between one to three miles long. Plan to spend at least 45 minutes for this activity. Bring water, wear comfortable shoes, dress in layers, and join us as we Take A Hike!
