San Mateo County Disaster Preparedness Day Saturday 6/ 11, 10 am – 2 pm, SMC Event Center, 2495 S. Delaware St. San Mateo

The  7th Annual San Mateo County Disaster Preparedness Day is happening this Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 10 am – 2 pm. It’s free, and it’s at the San Mateo County Event Center, 2495 S. Delaware Street, in San Mateo. The date coincides with the first day of the 2011 San Mateo County Fair, and anyone arriving before 11 am will receive free parking AND free admission that day to the county fair.

Last year’s San Bruno explosion and fire, and the more recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan, highlight the need for every household to be prepared for an emergency – so that each of us can do our best to protect our families, our homes, and ourselves. Consider attending this event and gaining a great deal of information that’ll really help you and your family in preparing for fire, earthquake, flood, terrorism, or other disaster.

  • Emergency Kit and Disaster Plan Instructions
  • First-Aid, Police, Fire & Emergency Equipment Demonstrations
  • CPR Saturday! Take a free & fast course in basic CPR
  • FREE Admission
  • Arrive before 11 am for free parking and free admission to the County Fair

For more information, contact the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services at (650) 363-4790 or the Office of Supervisor Adrienne J. Tissier (650) 363-4572.

And don’t forget to go to www.redwoodcity.org/codered to sign up for our emergency notification system, and go to www.smcalert.info to sign up for the County’s community alert system.
