Good afternoon – here’s information on an upcoming electronic waste (and more) recycling event, sponsored by the Redwood Shores Community Association, and taking place in the parking lot at the Redwood Shores Library. It’s this Saturday, so you’d better pull out that e-waste now and get ready (and note that with the involvement of Goodwill, they can take stuff besides electronics)!
Read on for details –
RSCA Announces Free E-Recycling
Date: Saturday, September 10
Time: 10 am – 2 pm
Place: Redwood Shores Library – Parking Lot, 399 Marine Parkway @ Bridge Parkway
Here’s your chance to clean out your closets & garage. Bring old TVs, computers, monitors, stereos, telephones, cell phones, PDAs, batteries, and other electronic equipment for safe & proper disposal. (Hard drives are 3X erased and shredded for data security.)
Again this year in collaboration with Goodwill Industries, the list of what we can accept for donation is expanded. In addition to electronics, we can accept:
• Consumer electronics
• Books, CD’s, & videotapes
• Boots and shoes
• Kitchenware and small appliances
Take advantage of this opportunity to clean house. Bring in your old stuff and receive a charitable donation (tax) receipt.
(Sorry; NO large appliances and furniture, mattresses, sofas, toys, snow skis, or auto parts, will be accepted!)
Partnering with Goodwill makes sense and boosts our local economy. A major recycler of electronics in San Mateo County, Goodwill employs many people. In conjunction with e-waste recycling the organization retrains many more. This greatly benefits our wider community and they deserve our support.
