Good afternoon –
Here’s your invitation to enjoy the outdoors and get more fit and healthy with friends, neighbors, and others from our community – it’s the final hike of the year in San Mateo County’s Take a Hike series, which encourages you to discover a County Park one Saturday each month. Read on for the details about this fun program, provided by the County of San Mateo.
San Mateo County Take a Hike!
It’s a great way to explore the natural beauty of San Mateo County’s parks. Enjoy the sunshine and camaraderie of family and friends while increasing your activity level. Learn about the history of our local parks as staff and volunteers guide you along picturesque trails.
The final hike this year is THIS SATURDAY, October 29 starting at 9 am at Coyote Point Recreational Area.
Bring your sneakers as we hit the trails for our final group hike of the 2011 season at Coyote Point Recreation Area, 1701 Coyote Point Drive, San Mateo. County Park rangers and environmental educators from CuriOdyssey will lead the hike and provide information about park history and local habitat. Coyote Point Recreation Area is a family friendly park and a great place to introduce children to hiking. Most of the trails are paved and suitable for strollers. Don’t be surprised if you see some hikers in Halloween attire – costumes are encouraged for this hike and they’ll be a prize for the best costume.
Bring water, dress in layers, and wear comfortable shoes. Take A Hike is sponsored by Supervisor Rose Jacobs Gibson, who encourages you to discover the trails in all our county parks as a way to stay active and healthy.
After entering the park, follow the Take A Hike signs to the starting point.
