The Young Dreamer Network is holding its 2nd Annual Benefit Dinner & Concert on Thursday, May 3 at the Fox Theatre from 6:30 – 10 pm. Enjoy a fun evening of great food, drinks and music as we honor our peer-selected Young Dreamer of the Year as well as our Dreamer of the Year, Diane Tavenner.
All proceeds will directly benefit the Redwood City Young Dreamers participation in our annual program including their international volunteer trip.
The evening kicks-off at 6:30 pm with an open bar reception and appetizers. Our guests will then enjoy a wonderful dinner followed by a presentation by our Redwood City and Guatemalan Young Dreamers. The evening will conclude with our awards ceremony and a great concert by San Francisco-based dance/party band Pop Rocks. Young Dreamer Network exists to empower teens to become difference makers in their communities. They are identifying challenges within their community and addressing these challenges through strategic actions. In San Mateo County, our program entails leadership development, service-learning, international volunteer trips and after-school workshops at local high schools. The teens identify issues that matter to them and develop plans for serving their community on those issues. The ultimate goal is for these teens to emerge from high school clear on what their talents, gifts, passions, and interests are; clear on the needs of their local community and the global community; and clear on how to apply themselves to those needs.
