Good afternoon –
Here are a few quick items that I think will be of interest:
1. The 8th Annual Redwood City Poker Run motorcycle ride fundraiser for youth is coming up – May 12
2. Fundraiser for PAL/SAL – “ABBA – The Concert” tribute band, and Pre-Concert VIP Party Fundraiser – also May 12
3. San Mateo County Affordable Housing Week 2012 activities – May 5 – 12
8th Annual Redwood City Poker Run
It’s a great fundraiser benefitting the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Activities League, Redwood City Police Activities League, and After School Sports. Combined, these organizations serve thousands of children each year with after school program opportunities, athletics, educational programs, civic and cultural activities, and more.
This year’s Poker Run will be held on Saturday, May 12th, 2012 starting at Dudley Perkins (333 Corey Way, South San Francisco.) Registration begins at 8:00 am, with the ride starting at 10:00 am. This is a great opportunity for motorcycle riders to ride along with police motorcycle officers through the scenic coast of San Mateo County. Our ride ends at Sparky’s Hot Rod Garage (975 Industrial Suite B, San Carlos) at 1:30pm with a BBQ, raffle and live music. Last year’s event was a huge success, attracting over 275 motorcycles and raising over $40,000 dollars to support the Youth of San Mateo County.

“ABBA the Concert” – Pre-Concert VIP Party Fundraiser
The Redwood City Police Department and the San Mateo Sheriff’s Department are teaming up for a joint fundraiser benefiting the Police and Sheriff’s Activities League. You are invited to enjoy two hours of good food and drink with a great group of people, then experience ABBA – The Concert live at the Fox Theatre on Saturday, May 12th, 2012.
The pre-concert fundraiser event will begin at 5 pm and will continue to 7 pm. Then, the “ABBA – The Concert” show begins at 8 pm. The VIP Pre-party including a mezzanine ticket to the show is $100 – proceeds from the pre-party go to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Activities League and the Redwood City Police Activities League.
The event takes place on Saturday, May 12th, 2012, at the Historic Fox Theatre, in beautiful downtown Redwood City.
As a pre-party guest, you’ll enjoy fabulous hearty appetizers and a hosted cocktail reception until 7 p.m. This is a great opportunity to meet and mingle with Sheriff Greg Munks, Undersheriff Carlos Bolanos and new Redwood City Police Chief JR Gamez along with the fine men and women from these law enforcement agencies, while you help to raise much needed funds for youth programs in our communities. Tickets may be purchased online at http://tickets.foxrwc.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=326
Please share this email and link with your family, friends, and co-workers. We are looking to have record number of ticket sales for this very worthwhile event benefiting the kids our community.
