Volunteer to make 4th of July a Great Success!

Hello –

Here it is, June already, and that means we’re all gearing up for the annual 4th of July Parade and Festival!  We have a new parade route for 2012, and an incredible family festival that’ll draw thousands –  and the Peninsula Celebration Association (PCA) is in need of the community’s support to put on this much-loved event. Volunteers are needed to be part of the Family 4th, and it’s a great opportunity for you to participate in making it a great success.

The City worked with PCA to bring the parade route and festival back into the Downtown which we’re all very excited about – and volunteers can play a big role, from the distribution of street closure notices to posting no-parking signs, to helping during the parade itself, and more. Your help is urgently needed!

You, your family members, and your friends and co-workers are invited to join the fun, give some time, and bring your enthusiasm to the Family 4th.

Attached is a list of assignments that are available – the most critical needs are:

1)  the distribution of the street closure notices to residents and businesses in the lineup area and along the parade route 2)  the posting of the no-parking signs 3)  the block marshals at the compression locations along the parade route

Please consider offering some of your time and energy to give to help make this an incredible 4th of July for so many people in our community and throughout the Bay Area. More information and volunteer sign up is online at – click on “Volunteer.” You’ll have fun, while helping to put on this wonderful event!
