Good morning –
It’s time once again for the Redwood City Pride and Beautification Committee’s Annual Fall Cleanup Day / Coastal Cleanup Day!
You’re invited to join in this fun, family-friendly annual event, on Saturday September 15th, 2012. This year, in addition to Redwood Creek, the cleanup will focus on sprucing up parts of Brewster Avenue, Marshall Street, the Union Cemetery, Whipple Avenue, Winslow Street, Woodside Road, and other sites. The more debris that is cleaned up in these areas, the less debris ends up in our coastal waterways and the bay!
Volunteers can meet at 8:30 am on Saturday September 15th at our Public Works Services building, 1400 Broadway (near Woodside Road). There, you’ll get a complimentary continental breakfast, and then join a clean-up team and move out to this year’s targeted areas. Then at noon, come back to Public Works for a special free BBQ lunch as a ‘thank you’ for participating in this annual project.
Thanks to the generous sponsors of the Annual Fall Cleanup Day:
- San Mateo Credit Union
- Recology San Mateo County
- San Mateo Countywide Water Pollution Prevention Program
- SIMS Metal Management
And don’t forget, on the same day Recology sponsors the Great Compost Giveaway at the Public Works Services parking lot from 9 am to 3 pm – residents of Redwood City can take up to one cubic yard of free compost (that’s about three garbage cans full) on a first-come, first-served basis.
We hope to see you at the Annual Fall Cleanup Day/Coastal Cleanup Day on September 15! If you need more info, please call 650-780-7300.
