“Meet the Author” Tonight at Library

Good morning –

Two items for you this morning – one is a great “meet the author” event TONIGHT at the Downtown Library, and the other is an E-Waste+ Recyling event in Redwood Shores this Saturday. Please read on for details on both!

Meet the Author:
Katie Crouch TONIGHT at the Redwood City Public Library!

The Redwood City Public Library is pleased to announce Katie Crouch, New York Times bestselling author of “Girls in Trucks,” and other books.

Meet the Author – Katie Crouch
Thursday, September 6 at 7 pm
Downtown Library – Community Room
1044 Middlefield Road, Redwood City

People Magazine said of her latest, Men and Dogs, “Prepare to have your heart broken while laughing out loud at this breathtaking, scathingly sardonic novel.” This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Redwood City Library. Library Donors will be honored at a pre-event reception hosted by the Library Foundation.

Katie Crouch is the author of the New York Times bestselling novels “Girls in Trucks,” “Men and Dogs,” and the Magnolia League series for young adults. Her writing has also appeared in The New York Observer, Tin House, Glamour, Slate, the London Guardian, and McSweeney’s. Ms. Crouch received her M.F.A. at Columbia University, and was awarded a Sewanee Walter Dakin Fellowship and a MacDowell Fellowship. To learn more about Katie Crouch, visit


The Redwood Shores Community Association (RSCA) Announces

Recycle Day Plus+ (FREE drop-off!) 
Date: Saturday, September 8, 2012 Time: 10:00 am – to 2:00 pm
Place: Redwood Shores Library
399 Marine Parkway @ Bridge Parkway, Redwood City (enter the parking lot from Bridge Pky)

Clean out your closets & garage…
A great opportunity to clean house! Take advantage of this free event, dispose of your outdated electronic equipment properly & safely. Bring your old stuff to us and receive a charitable donation (tax) receipt!
RSCA – collaborating with Goodwill Industries, will accept for recycling, old computers, (hard drives are 3X erased & shredded for security), monitors, routers, and other consumer electronics including TVs, stereos, telephones, cell phones/PDAs etc.

During this 4 – hour event; there’s no charge to bring small appliances, kitchenware, men’s, women’s and children’s clothing & accessories, shoes, bed and bath linens, bicycles, jewelry books and more.
* Sorry, we cannot accept large appliances, furniture, sofas and mattresses, snow skis, auto parts, newspapers/magazines, or any hazardous waste. Click HERE for a complete list of what we will and will NOT be able to accept.
