2 Open House Meetings on Farm Hill/Jefferson Improvements

Good morning, and happy Friday!

I wanted to let you know that Redwood City has scheduled two open house/information meetings about a proposed pilot project for improvemetns to parts of Farm Hill Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue.

This Project is designed to make the streets safe, comfortable, and accessible for people walking, riding bikes, and driving on sections of these roadways in western Redwood City. We held a meeting on this in June, and community members provided a great deal of comment and input, resulting in draft designs for the project. These open houses are an opportunity for you to review and learn about the draft designs, talk with City staff about the proposed road improvements, and comment on the design concepts. Each of the open houses will have the same content; it is not necessary to attend both. The improvement project is proposed as a pilot project for Farm Hill Boulevard between Jefferson Avenue and the western City limits, and on Jefferson Avenue from Farm Hill to Alameda de las Pulgas.

The open houses are scheduled for:

  • Tuesday, September 25, 2012
5:30 – 7:30 pm (Drop in any time)
Multi-use building at Roy Cloud Elementary School, 3790 Red Oak Way
  •  Wednesday, October 3, 2012
    5:30 – 7:30 (Drop in any time)
Council Chambers at City Hall, 1017 Middlefield Road

You’re invited to participate in shaping the development of the designs for improvement to these roadways. After gaining community input at these two open house meetings, staff expects to take a final recommendation to the City Council to consider whether this pilot project is preferred, or if the roadways should remain as they are. If approved, some improvements could be installed this year. The roadway is also scheduled for resurfacing in 2013.
