Library’s October Fun for Kids & Families

Good morning – October is a great month for kid stuff at the Downtown Library! Here are just a few upcoming programs, brought to you by the Friends of the Library: a children’s author visit featuring Marissa Moss; Louis Pearl, the Amazing Bubble Man; and the Annual Halloween Costume Parade and concert.

Author Visit
Featuring Marissa Moss, author of “We Read Together”

The Redwood City Public Library invites families to share the joy of reading with the annual We Read Together author program.  This year’s guest is renowned children’s author Marissa Moss.

  • Thursday, October 4 at 7 pm
    Downtown Library, 10444 Middlefield Road

Marissa Moss is the prolific author of the Amelia’s Notebooks and the Max Disaster  books that tell the stories of children in their topsy-turvy worlds in an inviting diary-style format.  Moss’ newest series is historical fiction including Mira’s Diary: Lost in Paris which blends mystery and time travel in the story of a young girl in 1880’s Paris. Enjoy hearing the author’s family-friendly presentation then get your Marissa Moss books autographed. Books will be available for sale, but you may bring your own books from home for signing.


Louis Pearl, The Amazing Bubble Man!

Families are invited to enjoy the art and science of “bubble-ology” with the master of bubbles, Louis Pearl.

  • Saturday, October 6 at 11 am
    Downtown Library, 1044 Middlefield Road

Redwood City’s Annual Halloween Parade & Rock n’ Roll
with the Raytones

It’s the spooky annual Halloween Costume Parade along with great kid-style rock ‘n’ roll with the Raytones!

  • Wednesday, October 24 at 7 pm
    Downtown Library, Family Place, 1044 Middlefield Road

Halloween costumes are encouraged. We’ll parade through the Library with Ray the Rhino taking the lead, make even more noise than usual, then “rock on” to the world’s coolest fun-time family band, the fabulous Raytones!
