Good afternoon –
I’d like to let you know about a great opportunity to serve your community: one seat is available on Redwood City’s Architectural Advisory Committee, to be appointed by the Planning Commission.
Please note that members of the Architectural Advisory Committee are required to be licensed architects or landscape architects, residing or working in the City of Redwood City or its sphere of influence (as described in the City’s General Plan).
If you meet that qualification, and you have a strong desire and willingness to work diligently on behalf of the community, then I really encourage you to apply.
The application deadline is 5 pm, Monday, November 12, 2012. You can apply online by going to www.redwoodcity.org/clerks, or call 650-780-7220 to request an application. The final appointment is expected to be made later this year. Applicants meeting the professional qualifications will be invited for oral interviews. This seat will expire on May 31, 2016.
If you think you can offer new perspectives and ideas, and contribute to the City’s discussions and decisions on a variety of substantial matters, then please consider applying – advisory committees like this one serve an essential function in helping to manage the significant issues our community faces. Your ability to build consensus, willingness to offer thoughtful, productive recommendations, and motivation to be prepared, informed, and engaged in the committee’s work are all critical factors contributing to being appointed.
Again, applicants for the Architectural Advisory Committee must be licensed architects or landscape architects. Please visit www.redwoodcity.org/clerks for the details and to apply.
