Upcoming events – 1st weekend in Dec.

Here is just a quick reminder of a few things coming up on the first weekend in December – get these on your calendar!

  1. Hometown Holidays, Saturday, December 1st, starting at 10 am. See for details, or call the Hometown Holidays Hotline at (650) 307-4064 or email: Rain or shine! This free family celebration includes kids’ snow play area, ice sculpting demo, entertainment, vendor booths, holiday parade, City Hall tree lighting and fireworks, and Santa Clause!
  2. Caltrain Holiday Train – after a two-year hiatus, the Caltrain Holiday Train is back! See it at the Redwood City Caltrain station, Saturday December 1 at 6:15 pm, and bring a new unwrapped toy to donate. The Holiday Train is a free family event that brings together thousands of local community members in the spirit of joy and giving. Decorated with 60,000 glittering lights, the dazzling show-train will visit 10 Caltrain stations between San Francisco and Santa Clara over two nights in December, providing holiday entertainment and collecting donations of toys for local children who otherwise might not receive a gift during the holidays.   3. PENPEX Stamp Show, Saturday and Sunday, December 1 and 2, Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue. The Peninsula Philatelic Exhibition (PENPEX) show has been around for nearly 50 years and sponsor Sequoia Stamp Club has been a part of the Redwood City community for 65 years. Open to the public every day at 10 am, closing Saturday at 5:30 pm and Sunday at 4 pm. 19 stamp dealers, youth area, silent auction, 60 exhibits, awards banquet, meetings, and U.S. Postal Service.
