CHP DUI Checkpoint Scheduled for Redwood City Tonight

Good morning –
I wanted to direct you to this article in the Redwood City Patch, about a DUI checkpoint that the California Highway Patrol is scheduled to implement tonight in Redwood City. The precise location is unknown – but please take this as a reminder to be safe during the holiday, don’t drink and drive, and be sure to have a designated driver if your activities include alcohol.

DUI Checkpoint to Take Place in Redwood City Saturday

CHP officers plan to ‘aggressively seek those who choose to drive drunk.’

The Redwood City Area Office of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday, Dec. 22 to “aggressively seek those who choose to drive drunk.”
“Every year, members of our community are injured or killed on local roadways by impaired drivers. It is the department’s goal to use this enforcement tool to assist with the reduction of injury and fatal collisions that are caused by drunk drivers,” said CHP Officer Arturo Montiel on Friday. “We are asking the public to designate a driver if they happen to allow alcohol to be part of their evening.”
The checkpoint will be operated from approximately 8 p.m. to midnight.

This checkpoint may be cancelled due to inclement weather, Montiel said.
