Cleanup Day TOMORROW! Coffee with the Cops on Tuesday

Good morning, and happy Friday!

I’d like to give you two quick reminders this morning: tomorrow is Redwood City’s annual Spring Cleanup Day in honor of Earth Day; and Tuesday April 23 is the next Coffee with the Cops event, at Starbucks on Marsh Road.

Please read on for the details!

Celebrate Earth Day by Joining Redwood City’s Pride and Beautification Committee for the
Annual Spring Cleanup!

Also, Recology’s “Great Compost Giveaway”     You’re invited to join the Redwood City Pride and Beautification Committee for the fun, family-friendly annual Spring Cleanup Day on Saturday April 20, 2013! Get a head-start on Earth Day, which is April 22, by  participating with friends and neighbors in this very popular community-building cleanup activity.

Redwood City’s Earth Day/Spring Cleanup
Saturday, April 20, 2013 – 8:30 am Public Works Services building
Meet at 1400 Broadway (between Chestnut and Woodside)

Meet at 8:30 am on Saturday April 20 at the City’s Public Works Services building, located at 1400 Broadway (near Woodside Road). After a complimentary continental breakfast, clean-up teams will move out and descend on this year’s targeted areas. Then at noon, volunteers will meet for a special free BBQ lunch as a ‘thank you’ for participating in this annual fun project that helps the entire community.

And, from 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday, April 20, residents of Redwood City can take up to one cubic yard of free compost (that’s about three garbage cans full) – a limited supply will be shared among Redwood City community members on a first-come, first-served basis. Thank you, Recology!

For more information see the news release.

Join members of the Redwood City Police Department for

“Coffee with the Cops”

The next Coffee with the Cops is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23  from 5:30 – 7 pm at Starbucks, Marsh Manor, 955 Marsh Road.

This is a great idea by our police department, continuing last year’s very successful Coffee with the Cops events.  These are informal visits at local coffee shops, for officers and a sergeant to meet and talk with neighbors and community members. Just chat, ask questions, and learn about police programs and efforts in your neighborhood. No formal presentations, and you are invited to drop in any time during the 90 minutes that police staff are there. Find the one closest to your neighborhood and drop in, or visit any of the Coffee with the Cops events.

For more info and the complete schedule, see the news release (which also has the schedule of the Chief’s Town Hall Meetings).
