This fabulous FREE event presents a great opportunity to celebrate how much teens contribute to our community. It’s at Courthouse Square this Friday evening.

Teens in Action Showcase 

Presented by the Redwood City Teen Advisory Board

Friday, May 10th
6:30 – 9 pm

The Redwood City Teen Advisory Board invites you to the third annual  Redwood City Teens in Action Showcase!

This fun and informative FREE event celebrates the positive and change-making efforts of young people in our immediate community. The entire community – teens, families, community leaders, business owners, educators, and others – is invited and encouraged to attend and join in the fun!

The program features over 20 information tables and displays by local youth leadership groups, and includes hip hop and break dance demonstrations, musical performance, live DJs and spoken word – all by local teens. We will have Teen Masters of Ceremonies along with MC Cesar. Fabulous raffle prizes will be offered throughout the evening.

The program includes:

Welcome by Redwood City Vice Mayor Jeffery Gee

Teen Performances
Juvanescence (Teen Hip-Hop Crew)
Young Dreamers “Being the Difference”
Boys & Girls Club of the Peninsula “Adobe Youth Voices Performance”

DJs, Raffle Prizes, Games, Dance and Grand Prize Give-Away (iPad)!

Participating groups include Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula – Peapod Adobe Youth Voices Academy; El Centro de Libertad/The Freedom Center Youth Advisory Board; Grupo MAAC; Immigrant Youth Action Team; Kids in Partnership Program; Redwood City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Youth and Teen Advisory Boards; Redwood City Library; Redwood Environmental Academy of Leadership (REAL); San Mateo County Youth Commission; Sequoia Teen Resource Center Youth Advisory Board;; Sequoia Teen Wellness Center; Sequoia Union High School District’s Migrant Youth; The Dream Club; Woodside High School Octagon Club; Youth Leadership Institute – Youth Organizing San Mateo (YO! Mateo); and the Young Dreamer Network.
