Request for Help for Families Displaced by Fire

Good afternoon –

As most of you know there was a devastating fire in Redwood City last week that displaced 26 people, who lost everything in the fire. The Red Cross has put them in temporary housing, but these families have other immediate personal needs.  Please read the note below from the Salvation Army and consider helping.

We have 26 persons displaced from the Fair Oaks fire, who have lost everything.  They do not have a change of clothes.  Seven of them are children.  Their biggest need right now is clothing. Please consider donating Target or Kmart gift cards, or gift certificates from Savers.  The Salvation Army will be collecting clothes and gift cards for the families.

If you can help, please contact Bonnie Miller 368-4643 at the office or 280-4266 cell

  • Clothing or gift cards can be dropped off at 660 Veterans Blvd Monday – Thursday.
  • Please label them for Redwood City Fire Victims and they will be put in my office for distribution.

We don’t have sizes at this time, but here are some descriptions of the families:

Family one:

  • 9 year old boy
  • 2- 4 month girls (twins)
  • Mother and father

Family two:

  • 8 year old boy
  • 11 year old boy
  • Mother and father

Family three:

  • 13 year old daughter
  • 5 year old boy
  • Mother and father
  • Grandmother and grandfather

Thank you for your generosity in helping these families, who are safe but have unfortunately lost all of their possessions. Planning for a fundraiser is underway, more information will be available soon.
